Reports to: Director of Information Technology

Scope and Purpose:

We are looking for a dedicated Network & Security Administrator to join our team at AUK. The ideal candidate will be responsible for configuring and maintaining network infrastructure, providing support for firewalls and security systems, troubleshooting connectivity issues, and assisting with IP telephony support. The Network & Security Administrator will also be involved in monitoring network performance, applying software and firmware updates, ensuring security compliance, and maintaining network documentation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Install, configure, and support network devices such as switches, routers, VLANs, and wireless access points.
Assist in managing firewalls, endpoint protection, and intrusion prevention systems to enforce security policies.
Configure VPN access, Wi-Fi authentication, and user access controls through identity services.
Monitor network performance, resolve connectivity issues, and respond to incidents in collaboration with senior staff.
Support the setup and maintenance of IP phone systems, voicemail, and call routing configurations.
Perform routine updates to networking equipment and document changes for compliance.
Follow security protocols for secure access, assist with vulnerability assessments, and maintain system logs.

Qualifications
Education:

Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, Information technology and computing, Information Security, Networking, or a related field.
Certification in Cisco (e.g., CCNA) is preferred.
ITIL Foundation certification is preferred.
Entry-level security certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+) is optional but beneficial.
Years of Experience:

2-4 years of experience in network or security administration in a structured IT environment.
Advanced knowledge in SQL and programming.
Oracle certified developers are preferred.
Knowledge of Ellucian Banner and/or Explorance Blue systems is considered an added value.
Fluency in both Arabic and English speaking, reading, and writing.
Skills/Abilities:

Skilled in troubleshooting LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, and VPN environments using diagnostic tools and standard operating procedures.
Knowledge of security implementation, monitoring, and enforcement of IT security policies.
Experience in supporting system integration with user devices, authentication systems, and enterprise applications.
Ability to maintain accurate network documentation, perform patch management, and ensure compliance with institutional standards.
