Role Overview

We are looking for an inspiring and adaptable Class Teacher to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will deliver a well-rounded curriculum that inspires a love of learning in a diverse, international student body. They will embrace inquiry-based learning, cultivate global perspectives, and support the holistic development of students, all in line with Aldenham’s ethos and the IPC Personal Learning Goals.

Key Responsibilities

Actively promote Aldenham’s core values: academic excellence, character development, and broad education.
Inspire a passion for learning through a positive, supportive, and challenging classroom environment.
Model and encourage the IPC Personal Learning Goals, nurturing resilience, inquiry, and adaptability in students.
Respect and support Saudi culture and traditions, embedding cultural appreciation in the curriculum.
Teaching and Learning

Plan and deliver engaging, student-centered lessons that challenge and inspire students.
Use inquiry-based approaches to develop critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
Integrate technology to enhance learning experiences.
Differentiate learning to ensure all students, including those with English as an Additional Language (EAL), SEND, and high-potential learners, make significant progress.
Set and track ambitious learning goals, fostering a growth mindset in students.
Provide constructive, timely feedback that encourages reflection and independence.
Utilize Teaching Assistants and specialist teachers effectively to enrich learning.
Assessment and Reporting

Use a range of assessment strategies to evaluate student progress and inform teaching.
Provide regular, insightful feedback to students and parents through formative and summative assessments.
Contribute to meaningful and detailed student progress reports according to school policies.
Professional Collaboration and Contribution

Collaborate within year group teams to ensure consistent and high standards of teaching.
Share best practices and engage in professional learning to contribute to the school’s continuous improvement.
Actively participate in co-curricular activities and contribute to the broader school community.
Attend staff meetings, professional development sessions, school events, and assemblies.
Safeguarding and Well-being

Commit to safeguarding and child protection, ensuring the well-being of all students.
Follow school policies and procedures related to safeguarding, health, and safety.
Build strong pastoral relationships with students, supporting their social, emotional, and personal development.
Person Specification

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

A bachelor’s degree in education or a relevant subject.
A UK PGCE, QTS, or an equivalent internationally recognized teaching qualification.
At least two years of primary school teaching experience.
Strong knowledge of the UK National Curriculum and inquiry-based learning methods.
A proven record of delivering high-quality teaching and achieving student progress.
Experience working with diverse student populations, including EAL learners.
Desirable Experience:

Familiarity with or experience in UK independent school practices.
Knowledge of or experience with the International Primary Curriculum (IPC).
Experience using Apple technology and digital tools to enhance learning.
Experience leading co-curricular activities or initiatives within a school setting.
